Monica Allan, born and raised in Los Angeles, is a graduate of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and has her BFA in Musical Theater from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. Growing up with parents in the entertainment business has given Monica a great understanding of the exciting process of theater, film and TV and the importance of developing your craft. While in high school at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, she produced and hosted a monthly open mic night which raised hundreds of dollars for charities.
Monica is an ardent student of all things musical theater and during the summer of 2014 she interned with the Los Angeles Festival of New American Musicals, where she managed their social media accounts and assisted in grant writing. In January of this year, Monica was very fortunate to participate in the festival of New Musicals at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Connecticut as Gabby in a new work, titled Milo at the Movies, by Tom Diggs and Mark Gaylord and directed by DB Bonds and music direction by Jordon Cunningham.
She was also a member of the University’s comedy improv group, "Stop Laughing, Mom!" and has studied improv and sketch comedy writing at Upright Citizen’s Brigade in Los Angeles.
